Pahela Baishakh is the first day of the Bengali New Year. It is celebrated on the 14th of April every year with great joy and enthusiasm all over Bangladesh. On this day, people wear traditional clothes, enjoy cultural programs, and eat special foods like panta-ilish. Businessmen open new account books called “Haal Khata.” Different fairs and rallies like the “Mangal Shobhajatra” are arranged, especially in Dhaka and other big cities. Pahela Baishakh reflects the rich culture and heritage of Bengal. It unites people beyond religion, class, or region. This festival brings a message of hope, harmony, and new beginnings.

পহেলা বৈশাখ বাংলা নববর্ষের প্রথম দিন। প্রতি বছর ১৪ এপ্রিল বাংলাদেশে এটি বিপুল উৎসাহ ও আনন্দের সঙ্গে উদযাপন করা হয়। এদিন মানুষ ঐতিহ্যবাহী পোশাক পরে, পান্তা-ইলিশসহ বিশেষ খাবার খায় এবং সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানে অংশ নেয়। ব্যবসায়ীরা “হাল খাতা” খুলে নতুন বছরের লেনদেন শুরু করেন। ঢাকাসহ বড় বড় শহরে মঙ্গল শোভাযাত্রা ও বৈশাখী মেলা হয়। এই উৎসব বাঙালির সংস্কৃতি ও ঐতিহ্যের প্রতীক। এটি ধর্ম, জাতি ও শ্রেণি নির্বিশেষে মানুষকে একত্র করে এবং নতুন আশার বার্তা দেয়।
