In grammar, Number refers to the count of nouns or pronouns—whether they indicate one or more than one.

🔹 In short: Number shows whether a word is singular or plural.

✅ বাংলা সংজ্ঞা:

ব্যাকরণে Number (সংখ্যা) বোঝায় কোনো noun (বিশেষ্য) বা pronoun (সর্বনাম) কি একবচন (একটি) না কি বহুবচন (একাধিক) তা।

🔹 সহজভাবে বললে: Number দ্বারা বোঝা যায় কোনো কিছু একটি না কি একাধিক।

Number is mainly of two types:

1. 🟢 Singular Number (একবচন)

English:
When a noun or pronoun refers to only one person, thing, or idea, it is said to be in the singular number.

বাংলা:
যখন কোনো বিশেষ্য বা সর্বনাম শুধু একটি ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা ধারণা বোঝায়, তখন সেটি একবচন হয়।

2. 🟢 Plural Number (বহুবচন)

English:
When a noun or pronoun refers to more than one person, thing, or idea, it is said to be in the plural number.

বাংলা:
যখন কোনো বিশেষ্য বা সর্বনাম একাধিক ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা ধারণা বোঝায়, তখন সেটি বহুবচন হয়।

📘 How to Form Plural Nouns (Plural করার নিয়ম)

✅ 1. Add –s to most words

✅ 2. Add –es to words ending in s, sh, ch, x, o
