Democracy and autocracy are two different forms of government. In a democracy, the power lies with the people who elect their leaders through free and fair elections. Citizens have the right to participate in decision-making, enjoy freedom of speech, and have equal rights under the law. On the other hand, autocracy is ruled by a single person or a small group with absolute power. In autocratic governments, citizens have limited or no participation in governance, and freedom is often restricted. While democracy promotes equality and accountability, autocracy can lead to oppression and lack of transparency. Both systems have advantages and disadvantages, but democracy is generally considered better for protecting human rights and ensuring public welfare.
